Area Manager Gold Coast
I am currently employed as the Area Manager for the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, and have complete control of all operations from Brisbane QLD to NSW and 50km into NSW, approximately 185000km2.The Gold Coast region is the most profitable and busiest region within Queensland with in excess of 200000t of asphalt being produced pa in a new 280t per hour batch plant. The operations consist of paving crews, a new 280t per hour batch plant operating 24hrs a day, a mobile plant, a trucking fleet, planing /milling /profiling operations, a workshop, laboratory, sealing (chip seal) and prime operations, administration and QA/QC staff. We are currently the major supplier of ex bin asphalt on the Gold Coast as well as the successful tenderer for a 2 year surfacing programme for the Gold Coast City Council for the second consecutive term. We are also the preferred paving company for many Civil Engineering companies on the Gold Coast. My duties include but are not limited to, commercial management, all estimating/tendering (Benchmark software), procurement, all operations, HR, recruitment, complete financial and budget control, equipment and asphalt plant R&M, P&L accounts, CAPEX, technical and specification compliance, project management, health, safety, environmental and legislation compliance, programming, planning, customer and client relationships and service delivery. I am a decision maker and a team builder and believe in getting close to the troops whilst maintaining senior management control and integrity.

I was employed in New Zealand as a Divisional Manager for asphalt production, surfacing operations and an IANZ accredited laboratory. My roles have included but have not been limited to, recruitment, training, estimating, pricing, tender and attribute preparation, peer reviewing and final tender submission, managing contracts from inception to conclusion, analytical post contract cost reviews, material sourcing and procurement and sub contractor management. I have a technical background in new resurfacing processes (UTAs) and paving machinery development. I have worked on large resurfacing contracts including airfields, major highways and racetracks and on three major maintenance contracts. My role involved the management of three departments and building a new double drum asphalt plant.
