With a worldwide network of offices, they have an aggressive expansion strategy planned for the region, which has created the opportunity for a Database Programmer to join their high-calibre Hong Kong based regional team.
The key objective of this role is to maintain and develop databases and deliver a high standard of work using client data in the fulfilment of database and campaign activity.
To be successful in this role you will be a University graduate in an IT related discipline perhaps with up to two years experience working in a practical database environment. You will have an in-depth knowledge of and experience in designing and maintaining large normalised databases as well a knowledge and experience in maintaining and tuning SQL 2000 (and preferably 2005). A thorough understanding of Entity Relationship Modelling (Database Design), Physical Design (Tables, Queries, Views, Stored Procedures and possibly Forms and Reports), Database Maintenance (Security, User Rights, User Tablespace Allocations), Performance Tuning (Stored Procedures, Table Indexes, Table and Row Locking) as well as .NET development including database connectivity is also expected.
A proactive, confident solutions provider, you will be comfortable in executing data loads according to the account managers’ requirements. You will keep the client database up to date and secure while always ensuring work is delivered on time and meeting client requirements.
You will have strong written and oral English skills and most important of all will be your fine attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
