Position located in Beijing, China.
Westat is seeking a person with experience in project management and knowledge of medical and health research. This position will be responsible for organizing Westat's tasks on health research projects, working directly with the client representatives, completing Westat's tasks, and supervising other Westat staff on the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for making contacts with researchers in the Chinese government, universities, non-governmental organizations, and the pharmaceutical industry to promote Westat's services for their projects. Activities performed may include writing new study proposals and research protocols; developing schedules for performance of the project; creating training and procedures manuals; training research staff at clinics or other facilities; monitoring performance and schedules; performing quality control; writing reports; and monitoring the project budget. The ideal candidate will have a degree in medicine or other health-related field, at least 5 years of experience in health research, previous management experience, and knowledge of HIV or other infectious diseases. Must be fluent in both Mandarin and English, have good training skills, and be available to travel throughout China. Resumes accepted in English only.
