| Our client is a leading international consultancy firm. They are currently looking for an air dispersion modeller and impact assessor to join their Air Quality Team in Leeds, who provide advice on a wide range of air quality issues and the preparation of air quality impact assessments to support IPPC, EIA and planning applications.
In this role you will be responsible for preparing air impact assessments for both point source and traffic emissions. This will require:
- collating, reviewing and normalising emissions data provided by the client
- use of appropriate screening tools (e.g. H1, DMRB) to identify potentially significant sources
- use of dispersion models (e.g. ADMS3, ADMS Roads) to provide a more detailed assessment, considering multiple sources, building and terrain effects and use of percentiles
- assessing significance and model sensitivity
- report writing including justification of assumptions and approach
- use of graphics and visualisation packages such as Surfer
- communicating key issues to the client and/ or regulator
- management of small project budgets and meeting deadlines
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a BSc degree preferably in a numerate or scientific discipline and with an interest in air quality and pollution control. A relevant MSc would be an advantage. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of and experience in air quality issues and air dispersion modelling for industrial and traffic sources, although training will be given in the models and approaches used by our client. Previous experience in the use of ADMS3, ADMS Roads or AERMOD would be an advantage.
